The Wired Hide

This hide has a full 230v electrical installation which powers interior and exterior lights, wifi router, electric kettle, fans for de-misting windows, a 4 camera Ring system and UK 3 pin double socket for charging phones and camera batteries. The hide is split into 2 areas - a 3 man area for the kestrels and owls and a 2 man area for the weasel/stoat setup. The whole structure is cut into the ground so as to offer ground level views out to the visiting wildlife. During the summer we concentrate on Kestrels and Tawny Owls and during the winter we use the hide for Buzzard, Red Kite & Kestrel. The weasel/stoat setup doesn’t work year round but when we notice one present using the setup we send info out on the newsletter for immediate booking.

Hide Rules

  • Depending on the season you may be required to stay inside the hide for the full duration of the session. This is generally during the winter when we are feeding the larger raptors as they are incredibly sensitive to human activity around the hide.
  • The hide is situated on pasture which at certain times of the year is grazed by cattle. We cannot stress enough how important it is to check gates have properly latched shut behind you.
  • Please be respectful of the hide and where possible take litter home with you. We have a small bin in the hide for tea bags etc.
