Brown Hare

Brown hares boxing during early spring is possibly one of the most sought after images here in the UK - it’s certainly not one of the easiest though. With them being able to cover so much ground in such a short space of time luck needs to be on your side to capture a boxing sequence close up. The site we use for photographing hares is a massive expanse of grassland surrounded by arable so the perfect habitat for this species which means lots of hares. We believe on this site you will never be more than 50m away from a hare with the sheer density it offers but with them having food surrounding them constantly we have no way of attracting them to you so being patient and alert in your hide is the approach you need to take for this species.

To see if we are currently working with this species see the active hides page.
